The drawing platform of the platform type plotter is provided with a beam, a pen holder is arranged on the beam, and the drawing paper is fixed on the platform. When working, the X-direction stepping motor drives the beam and the pen holder to move in the X-direction, and the Y-direction stepping motor drives the pen holder to move in the Y-direction along the beam guide rail. The flatbed plotter has high drawing accuracy and has no special requirements for drawings.
In the drum type plotter, the drawing paper is rolled on the drum, the two sides of the drum are equipped with sprockets, and the two sides of the drawing are made with chain holes. When the X-direction stepping motor drives the drum to rotate through the transmission mechanism, the sprocket drives the drawing to rotate (clockwise or counterclockwise) to realize the X-direction movement. The movement in the Y direction is realized by the linear movement of the pen holder driven by the Y direction stepping motor. This kind of plotter has a compact structure, a small footprint, and a large drawing format. It can continuously draw tens of meters long graphics in the X direction, but requires special drawings with chains on both sides.
